Premarital Counseling Program
PREPARE/ ENRICH is one of the most widely used couple assessment programs for premarital counseling. It is the global standard – the #1 premarital and marriage assessment used for over 35 years. Couples take an online assessment focusing on topics such as children and parenting, financial planning and budgeting, intimacy, spirituality and religion, roles and responsibilities, leisure time, and creating an overall vision for married life. Sessions create the space for conversation on these topics, for couples to verbalize their expectations and desires, to deepen connection, and thoughtfully enter into a partnership together.
Program Details
Cost: Sessions are $185 each with a 35$ charge for the online assessment.
Duration: Couples vary on this. Averages are around 6-12. Some couples love to talk and want to explore all sections. There is also a 36 page workbook with exercises couples can do on their own, or with the therapist. Some couples just want to focus on one or two topics.
Insurance? Premarital counseling is not generally reimbursable by insurance. When an individual submits a claim to their insurance for reimbursement, it has to be for the treatment of a mental health disorder like anxiety or depression. There are some instance where couples seek premarital counseling for the stress and anxiety issues related to marriage or the wedding. In this case, that individual may be able to submit for reimbursement. Only applies if sessions were conducted in NY or NJ.
Location? We are in-person in Old Bridge. Virtually, you can be anywhere. Prepare/ Enrich is not couples therapy, and not bound by state location regulations.
